Outdoor Bowls

First and foremost have fun.

The grass referred to as the green is divided into rinks, each rink holds a game in play. 
The jack is thrown up the green first and bowls delivered after, each bowled on forehand or backhand with consideration to the bias, also known as the curve of the bowl.
The objective of the game is to get your bowls closest to the jack. You score one point for each bowl nearest the jack than the nearest bowl of your opposition.
